This section in the BDSM Sanctuary is being brought to the BDSM and fetish communities by the Spiritual Network. For over twenty years, those of the Spiritual Network have been offering information and creating a network of spiritual people. It seems that the minds (and hearts) of people are open in cycles and again we have entered into this cycle of personal and societal expansion. In being and becoming more of who we are, our explorations include self growth and awareness which translates to the physical body and a visual outward form. We are showing our openness through body modification (tattoos and piercings). Our expression in sexuality is manifesting itself as a growth in the BDSM and fetish communities. Most of what you will find here you probably already know, even if you are not consciously aware of having the knowledge - the truth is always felt within. ULEK Universal Love, Energy, and Knowledge® The need to belong to a tribe - be it family, a social group, a religious gathering, or whatever. It is an inherent part of who we are as human animals. It is our birth rite, our heritage, our history, and a part of our mental, energetic, emotional, and spiritual being. Those that choose to use ULEK® do so by choice, not by forced religious schooling, not because heritage demands it - but simply because you choose to use the word to describe yourself more clearly. Back in the 1980s, when this 'label' of ULEK was first published and copyrighted, the world needed a new word or at least a description that better explained the way people were thinking. So many people where searching and found the Spiritual Network, with our worldwide chat boards and our various discussion groups and meetings in Missouri, Illinois, and Montana. Many people were becoming more eclectic in their spiritual, emotional, and mental beliefs. People explored different sciences, religions, cultures, and forms of expression and lifestyles. Many found that they liked the reality of science but with parts of religion. Many tried and true reality believers were opening up to other possibilities while science was beginning to explain the principles behind certain aspects once considered mystic. Some found they felt a better expression of spirituality when they performed rituals. Some encompassed the beliefs of a philosophy yet felt the physical expression of spiritualism from a different culture fit them better. As much as the search for a place to belong was explored, the less people felt they could mold themselves into the dogma of any particular religion. As a society, as human animals, as spiritual beings we had evolved past the labels and words we were using. From the energetic need, from the desire, and in seeking knowledge the concepts merged to become ULEK, Universal Love, Energy, and Knowledge. The Spiritual Network became famous for being one of the first physical locations to offer an open door to the expression of multi-religion and multi-philosophical concepts. It did not call itself a church because that would require attaching dogma to it and defining it within a box. This is what people were getting out of – thinking outside a box and we were not going to just create a new one. With the popularity growing ULEK was first used in business in 1998, which prompted the need for a trademark. This was done so that every time you see the term ULEK, our symbol, or the use of Universal Love, Energy, and Knowledge that you would know where the principles came from and what they truly mean.
